Lottery Community Fund - West Coast, Nelson, Marlborough
Under the Gambling Act 2003, all profits from playing Lotto are used to benefit New Zealand communities.

The New Zealand Lotteries Commission runs the Lottery, and the New Zealand Lottery Grants Board distributes its profits.
​
​The Department of Internal Affairs administers the funds on behalf of the Board.

Rata Foundation
Formerly The Canterbury Community Trust and established in 1988, the Rata Foundation is the South Island’s largest philanthropic funder.
It invests in communities, with an aim to enable participation and empower learning.

O'Brien Trust
The O’Brien Charitable Trust was established in the early 2000s from the estate of John O’Brien, a retired furniture worker. The Trust was created specifically to fund the work of the Hearing Association, Nelson.

Pub Charity
Pub Charity Limited distributes donations to worthy community organisations all over New Zealand through the funds raised in gaming machines hosted in its member hotels and taverns.

The Lion Foundation
The Lion Foundation was established 1988. Lion Foundation funding comes from its many venues and gaming machines across the country. Funds are granted to charitable organisations via Regional Grants Committees.

St Joan's Charitable Trust
The purposes of the St Joan’s Charitable Trust is to promote the care, maintenance, welfare and rehabilitation of elderly persons and to promote stimulation and encourage public interest in the total welfare and health care of elderly persons.

RG & EF MacDonald Trust
Established in 2008, the MacDonald Trust was formed to promote community development and social services within New Zealand. It is an independent foundation with an office in Nelson.

Nelson City Council Community Grants
Council funding is available to not for profit community organisations to support delivery of programmes and activities that have a social development focus and contribute to Council’s Community Outcomes – Wellbeing and Social Development, Children/Youth/Families, Older Adults, Social Cohesion, Learning and Development and Diverse Communities.

Port Nelson
Port Nelson is at the heart of the Nelson community, both in location and spirit, and is vital to the ongoing economic and social wellbeing of the Nelson region.

They strive to play their role as a good corporate citizen by contributing to the vibrancy of life in Nelson through a range of sponsorships and investments supporting business, sports, and culture.
